Youtzy, 96, formerly of East Fourth Street, West Lafayette, died at 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at Glen-view Manor, Mineral Ridge. Born April VEARL STEIN BALTIC Vearl R. Stein, 75, of 125 S. Butler Baltic, died at 5:52 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 1997 at his home.

Born Feb. 12, 1922, in Bucks Township, he was the son of the late Calvin 0. and Ruby (Regu-la) Stein. On Dec. 22, 1945, he married Norma Jean Stein.

She survives. Mr. Stein retired as a self-employed truck driver after 40 years. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Fiat.

He was also a member of the Baltic Conservation Club, and served as a trustee for Fiat Cemetery for many years. Mr. Stein was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. Along with his JEAN BAILEY SEQUIM, Wash.

Jean Bailey, 79, of 172 Harriet Lane, Sequim, died Monday, June 23, 1997, at her residence. Born Sept. 20, 1917, in Ky-serike, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Irving and Marjorie (Lewis) Farver. On June 15, 1938, she married Edward A. Bailey.

He survives. Bailey was a home-maker. Along with her husband, she is survived by a brother, Charles Farver of LaJolla, two nieces; and four nephews. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by a sister, Dorcas Ashing.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, June 27, 1997, at the Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Coshocton with Pastor Donald Trigg officiating. 98382. JAMES SHEPHERD JR. WARSAW James Walter Shepherd 35, of 29133 County Road 22 died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Born May 3, 1962, in Ft. Hood, Texas, he was the son of James W.

Shepherd Sr. and Mary (Kuechle) Trotter. Mr. Shepherd was a self-employed hardwood floor installer and a member of the Crowder Baptist Church in Crowder, Miss. He is survived by his father, James W.

Shepherd Sr. and wife Barbara of Warsaw; his mother, Mary Trotter and husband Mel of Cape Coral, a son, Leif Dayton Shepherd of the home; five brothers, David Shepherd and wife Carol of Warsaw, Michael Shepherd of Glenmont, Scottie Shepherd and wife Mary of Millersburg, Joseph Shepherd and wife Shellee of Cape Coral, and Randy Shepherd of Warsaw; four sisters, Debbie Beam and husband Matt McCoy of Coshoc-' ton, Dawn Wise, Jennifer Thin-gelstad and husband David, all of Cape Coral, and Jami Helmick of Warsaw; a stepfather, Earl Wise of Cape Coral, an uncle, Freddie Faulkner and wife Cindy of Batesville, grandfather, Millard Pollock of Crowder, and a special friend, Leighann Anderson of Warsaw. Miss Mullens is survived by five sisters, Jerenda Sleeper and Sonja Moore, both of Howard, Janet Blubaugh and Penny An-nett, both of Danville, and Jamie Mullens of Holmesville; a grandfather, Junior Clifford Mullens of Craigsville, W.Va.; and a grandmother, Lola May of Danville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Mullens. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, June 27, 1997, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Jerry Bennett officiating. Born April 17, 1912, in Coshocton County, Jackson Township, she was the daughter of the late Josiah "Sie" and Anna (Mader) Kreider. On Nov. 10, 1928, she married George A. Bantum. He preceded her in death on Nov.

20, 1991. Mrs. Bantum was a home-maker and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Coshocton. She is survived by a son-in-law, Grant Longstreth and wife Priscilla of Coshocton; two grandchildren, Mary Ellen Lowe and Shirley K. Brink, both of Coshocton; five greatgrandchildren, Amy Casey and husband Marc of Newark, Susan Crowthers and husband Robert, Dawnya Lowe, Christy Lowe and Paul Michael Brink, all of Coshocton; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Goldie Sc.hlegel of Navarre.

Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Bantum was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kathryn Longstreth; seven brothers; and three sisters. Born July 21, 1921, in Coshocton County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ollie (Beatty) Stotts. She married Charles Joseph McNichols. He preceded her in death on Jan.

17, 1967. Mrs. McNichols retired as secretary at Sacred Heart School after 25 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by a son, Michael.

McNichols and wife Susan of Mt. Vernon; four daughters, Jody Lenzo and husband Tony, Vickie Jones and husband Greg "Pat," and Cindy Light and husband Wayne, all of Coshocton, and Christine McCleary and husband Ty of West Lafayette; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richards Stotts and Lawrence Stotts, both of Coshocton. The couple also served at Salvation Army Citadels in Dover, Zanesville, Bellaire, Cleveland, Alliance, Youngstown, Akron, Warren and Mt. Vemon before retiring.

He was formerly a member of the Coshocton Rotary Club and the Coshocton Kiwanis Club. Mr. Youtzy is survived by three daughters, Ruth M. Poling of Youngstown, Eva M. Harvey and her husband William of Mt.

Gilead, and Gladys E. Ruder-smith of North Canton; a sister, Nellie Mitchell of Point Pleasant, W. nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 1997, at the Free Funeral Home with Major Joseph Pritchard officiating.
