TEN THE COSHOCTON, OHIO, TRIBUNE NOTICES Mrs. William Bennett Mrs. William Bennett, 72, Kimbolton, died unexpectedly at 2:25 p.m. Sunday in Guernsey Memorial hospital. She had been in the hospital a day.

Myrtle Durben was born Feb. 24, 1885, at Kimbolton, a daughter of Ephraim and Mary Lanning Durben. She was married to Mr. Jennett Nov. 23, 1907, Mrs.

Bennett was a member of the Kimbolton Methodist church and the W-'S of the church. She was a lifelong resident of Kimbolton. Last November she and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Surviving are the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Wilmer Durben, Guernsey, Mrs.

Charles Dawson, Canton, and Mrs. Raymond Kimbolton; a son, Guy; a sister, Mrs. Frank Danley, Kimbolton; a half-sister, Mrs. G. E.

Mangus, East Rochester, a halfbrother, Earl Proctor, Canton, an' 16 great children. A daughter, sister and three brothers are deceased. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnell funeral home, Newc. in charge of Newton Furgeson, assisted by Rev.

Raymond Lyons. Burial will be in Kimbolton cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.. today. Walter Young Walter Young, 58, of Akron, was found dead in bed at his home Sunday presumably of a heart attack.

He was born April 24, 1802, in Pittsburgh, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Young. Mr.

Young, who had been a salesman, was married to Lucille Carr, forme ly of Newcomerstown, June 16, 1943. Surviving are the widow of the home; the father; a son, William, Sandusky a brother, William Young, Pittsburgh, and a grandchild. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bonnell funeral Hume, Newcomerstown, in charge of Rev. Douglas Peters.

Burial will be in West Lawn cemetery, Newcomerstown. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Ollie Erwin Mrs.

Ollie F. Erwin, Millersburg, died in Pomerene Memorial hospital. She had been in failing health for several months. Mazie Rachel McClain was born in New Philadelphia May 24, 1889, a daughter of William and Katherine Babel McClain. June 30, 1910, she was married to Mr.

Erwin and they moved to Millersburg in 1926. Mrs. Erwin was a memeber of the Baptist church at New Philadelphia attended the Millersburg Christian church and was a 1 umber of the Mothers elass. She was also a member of Daughters of America. Services in the Hunter funeral home, Millersburg, will be conducted by Manley C.

Pierce Tuesday at 130 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Millersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight. Vernon A. Raber Vernon A.

Raber, 18, Millersburg Route 2, died at him home at 7 p.m. Sunday following an illness of six months. He was born Nov. 7, 1939, a son of Abe A. and the late Maggie Miller Raber.

He was a member of the Amish faith. Mr. Raber is survived by his father and step-mother, five brothers, Andrew Sugarcreek Route 2, Melvin, Daniel, Abe Fred, of the home; and five sisters, Mattie, Lovina, Lucinda, Clara and Soloma, of the home. The Hunter funeral home of Millersburg is in charge of the funeral arrangements and services will be conducted at the residence at 9 a. m.

Wednesday. Burial will be in the Miller family cemetery in Mechanic township, Holmes county. Mrs. Lula Maxwell Mrs. Lula Maxwell, 79, Trinway, died Saturday afternoon in Good Samaritan hospital, Zanesville, where she had been a patient for three weeks.

She was born at West Carlisle June 18, 1878, a daughter of the late Louis Vale and Sarah Cochran Cox and was a member of the Trinway Methodist church and the WSCS of the church. She was married to Montford L. Maxwell, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lawrence Spease, Trinway.

One son, Robert, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at the Baughman funeral home in Dresden at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Roy Bower will officiate and burial will be in the Dresden cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home. DIES IN NEWARK services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. today for Mrs. Sadie Settles, Newark, who died Friday. She had visited with many friends in Coshocton.

TRUSTEES TO MEET There will be a meeting of the Jackson township trustees at the town hall in Roscoe Thursday at 8 p.m. A new fire protection contract for Jackson township will be discussed and all residents of the township are invited to attend. Gov. C. William O'Neill of Ohio was born on Valentine's Day.

MONDAY EVENING, DECEMBER 23, 1957 Industrialist's Death Is Believed Suicide LONDON, 0. (UP) Herbert A. Bauman 38, local industrialist and civic leader here, was found shot to death at his home early today. Police said he apparently committed suicide. Bauman, president of the Ohio Dynamite was a former member of London, City Council, a member the Presbyterian Church, the Masons and the American Legion.

He served in the South Pacific Theater in World War II. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday. ending Dec. 21, the receipts totaled $22,716.00, 28 compared with 298.59 for the same period last year, County Treasurer Atta Emler reported.

She served as president of the PTA and Band Mothers, was a member of the Plainfield grange and the Coshocton County Farm Bureau and the American Legion auxiliary of West Lafayette. For many years she was active in the Ohio Federation of Women's club work, serving as president of the West Lafayette Woman's club, Central district chairman of junior clubs and later state chairman of junior clubs. During this time she organized about 30 junior clubs in Ohio of which West LafaySorosis was one. ette. McGregor member of the Coshocton chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

In Washington she was president of the 76th Congressional club, and was secretary of the Foreign Section study group. was particularly proud of an honor recently bestowed upon her ir having a prayer kneeler of her own handiwork accepted and placed on display in the Washington National Cathedral. A story concerning this was featured in a national magazine. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m,. at the Main Street Methodist church in West Lafayette, with pastor, James C.

Cox, officiating. Burial will in Fairfield cemetery, Friends may call at the Bonnell funeral home in West Lafayette from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday and Wednesday and at the church from 12 to 2 Thursday. Eastern Star service will be held Wednesday evening at 9 at the funeral home. Rites Tuesday for Accident Victim Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bonnell funeral home, Newcomerstown, for Mrs.

Laura E. Rothenstein, 54, Uhrich3ville, who was killed in a traffic accident on Route 16 near Route 310 in Licking county Saturday night. Rev. John D. Fletcher will officiate and burial will be in West Lawn cemetery, Newcomerstown.

Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Mrs. Rothenstein was a passenger in a car driven by Charles T. Brown, 47, Uhrichsville, who was westbound on Route 16.

The car collided with another driven by Thomas Caudill, 34, Pataskala, who was going east. The latter's car then hit a truck operated by Byron Vanetta, 56, of Pataskala, and then struck the Brown vehicle head-on. The former Laura E. Tice was born Oct. 30, 1903, in Peansylvania, a daughter of Samuel and Ellen Tice.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Stence, Dover, Mrs. Juanita Welch, Newcomerstown Route 1, and Miss Kappa Joyce Rothenstein, Newcomerstown; three sons, Harold Rothenstein and Carl Rothenstein, both of Detroit, and Aaron Rothenstein, Newcomerstown; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Braden, Bradenton, Mrs. Lova Cunningham, Guernsey Route 1, Mrs.

Velma Hightower and Mrs. Verna Highland, both of California thr brothers, David Tice, Nev. comerstown, Carl and Robert Tice, both of Warsaw, and two grandchildren. A sister is deceased. Earl J.

Jones, 64, Dies at Zanesville (Continued from Page One) Independent. The Zanesville newspaper was discontinued in 1954 and the Jones interests sold to the Zanesville Publishing Co. At Zanesville Mr. Jones also operated the Ford automobile agency for several years, operated a drug store, a loan and other business interests. He was also president for a time of a real estate agency in Columbus.

Mr. Jones operated the Coshocton News here for a few months in 1946. Surviving are his wife; a son, John of the home in Zanesville; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Jane Hartman of Zanesville; a granddaughter, three sisters, two brothers, one half sister and a half-brother. Services will 1 be Thursday afternoon at the Hillis funeral home in Zanesville.

Mrs. Lucy De Witt Mrs.Lucy DeWitt, 77, Warsaw Route 1, died Sunday evening at the Rose Lawn nursing home, West Lafayette. She had been bedfast 17 weeks. Born April 11, 1880, in Keene township, whe was daughter of James and Nancy Jack Winklepleck. Oct.

26, 1899, she was married to Frank DeWitt, who died in 1941. Mrs. DeWitt was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist church. Surviving are one son, Raymond, Coshocton Route 3 a daughter, Mrs.

Harvey Bender, Warsaw Route six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A daughter, one brother and one sister are deceased. Services in the Fischer funeral home at Warsaw will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Roy Hall, assisted by Rev.

C. F. Roberts. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock tonight and Tuesday until time of services.

Jennings, killed when his car was struck by a Pennsylvania Railroad freight train at a crossing west of here. Xenia: Pearl Edward Rupert, 57, Dayton, died of injuries suffered Saturday when his truck crashed and overturned on Ohio 35 near Jamestown.

Payne: Clarence D. Erwin, 44, Rt. 1, Ohio City, and his wife, Eva, killed in a two-car collision at the intersection of Ohio 49 and 111 four miles north of here. Chagrin Falls: Mrs. Benjamin Cunningham, 80, burned to death in a fire that destroyed her home in the Chagrin Falls Park allotment in nearby Bainbridge Township.

Grim Yule Week On Highways Seen By UNITED PRESS An outbreak of high fatality week end traffic crashes marked a grim beginning to Christmas week. Many of the victims were children. A United Press count showed at least 42 persons were killed: in weekend multiple-fatality traffic wrecks around the country. One of the week end's worst collisions killed six persons on U.S. 66 near Holbrook, Ariz.

The crash Sunday involved a pickup truck and a car containing four holiday travelers from Indiana. Five persons were killed in a two-car collision Sunday near Lafayette, Ind. A mother and her three daughters were killed near Salinas, while returning Sunday from a Christmas program at church. (UP) Newshungry residents gobbled up all out of town papers today as it appeared unlikely any effort would be made before Christmas to end a strike that has caused local papers to suspend publication. Papers on newstands Sunday brought premium prices as people lined up to buy them.

Officials of Dayton Newspapers, publishers of the Afternoon and Sunday Daily News and the morning Journal Herald, and the International Mailers Union Local 137, said there were no new developments and no meetings had been scheduled to end the walk out. Raymond E. Brown, president of the local, said he doubted if there would be any development until at least after Christmas. The indefinite suspension of the two papers announced Saturday by Robert Wolfe, executive was, vice president and general manager of the publishing firm, following a meeting with mailers. The strike began Friday during negotiation of a new contract.

Johnson, 45, Route 4, whose car was involved in a traffic accident last Saturday night, forfeited $35 bond in municipal court today when he failed to appear on a reckless operation Sheriff William Hoop Jr. said Johnson lost control of his car and it struck another driven by Robert D.
